Description/Backstory
All the Single-Skins know what a Changeling looks like; slim, with their pale skin and hair, large white eyes circled with black, which is why Vim is never seen as one. He is everyone and no one.
As a Tribal Changeling and one of ‘The Children’, his whole life is lived as a lie. His own Mother and Father taught them the skills of deception and how to use Persona’s to stay safe and concealed. Family was everything to him but that all changed.
During their line of work, his parents had uncovered something they shouldn’t have, they and his brother were murdered, his Uncle was also killed helping Vim and his sister Leth escape by ship. Fleeing from Stormreach and Xen’Drik, they eventually landed on Khorvaire, their Uncle had told them someone powerful from here was responsible and they were going to find out who. Undercover they headed to the capital city Fairhaven and finding quiet, out of the way rooms, started to set themselves up with several Personas each.
Over the coming months, they were careful not to trust anyone, making no friends, only acquaintances, not even other Changelings they encountered. They infiltrated different levels of society to make money; bought and sold information on people, discrediting and setting them up for others. All the time trying to find clues on who had killed their family.
One day, a message made it to Vim but it wasn’t from one of their usual clients. He was to go to Ghalt and investigate a mass grave found there and would be rewarded according to his success. It was signed, ‘The Royal Eyes’.
Who are they, had they been watching them? Had they discovered who they were? All questions that would have to wait as this could be a clue they were looking for … he would leave at once.
